WIPocalypse and Chess

February’s WIPocalypse question is If you have any of your pieces on display in your home, which attracts the most plaudits?

I have several on display but we don’t get a lot of company to comment on things, though I think the one that gets the most is the McGuire lake pattern made from my own photo by Pinky. We have fun with it as most people think it’s a photo until we tell them to look close.

Nothing like curling to spur on finishes, Magical’s ornaments are now stitched up to July, still waiting on charms to finish them completely. Might have to revise my plans as they don’t seem to be arriving any time soon. I had my friend order them from the shop I originally got them in and he hasn’t heard back from them yet.
Also I completely finished the lovely Chess mini pillow from Sheena Rogers book, Mini Cushions in Cross Stitch.  And what a joy this pattern was, Me being me, of course I used black fabric and then changed all the colours, which she encourages in the book. The orange and yellow are random floss of unknown origin, and the variegated floss is Cosmo 8079, this is the first time using Cosmo and it’s lovely stuff. This little pillow will serve as my entry to the Stitching Pirates Gaming contest which I can’t win on anyway as I’m a judge, but it’s still fun to play.

As for what I watched.
Critical Role Ep 43

Game the Game - Above and Below - This one looked fun.

Shadowhunters  Ep 5-6

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Ep 48-100 plus spinoffs  - Such a wonderful thing,
so glad I found it.

Sense8 - Ep1- 4 Another Netflix series, a group of people around the world are psychically connected, just started but good so far.

Emma - The Gwenyth Paltrow version, light-hearted and fun.

The Scott Tournament of Hearts - Canadian women’s curling championship.

Vanya Sulie - Chapter 2

This blog started with Cindy and now that she’s done, I’ll consider this a new chapter,  It seems very strange not to be working on her, but I’m enjoying the easier patterns.  I did as said and have three on the go, Magical’s ornaments of course, I’m doing June now with sparkly thread that I of course both love and hate.
The chess mini cushion for the non entry to the Stitching Pirates contest this one is such fun and of course me been me I’m doing it on black instead of white,

And I have started Make it Pink’s Mulan the fabric is from Silkweavers and is lovely

As for what I watched.
Critical Role - rewatch is complete, I almost want to do it again

Supernatural S11 E07-12

The Lizzie Bennett Diaries Ep 1-48 A You Tube web series that is a modern retake of Pride and Prejudice It’s a lot of fun

Shadowhunters: S01 E01-E  Netflix show based on the Mortal Instruments books, changed quite a bit from the book but in a much more appropriate way than the movie did. Looks like this will be a good one

Muzzled the Musical: There is a wonderful world of you tube shows that I’m starting to discover and this three parter about song wars is awesome.

The Da Vinci Code - Like the books I prefer Angels and Demons,
but this is still a great mystery movie.  I still don’t like Tom Hanks as Langdon, he just doesn’t fit the role for me.  I do like that they toned down the romance that was in the book as it seemed very forced in the book

The Day After Tomorrow - High budget disaster movie that takes the actual effects of global warming and makes them happen in a week instead hundreds of years. Canada is toast, well frozen actually. A really good disaster movie and of course the dog survives

Dear Frankie - Independent Scottish Film, a woman needs a man to pretend to be her son’s father for a day, she gets Gerard Butler,

Dead pool - Well that was fun, the opening credits alone are worth the price of admission.

Die Hard - It really is one of the best action movies out there in no small part due to the villainy of Hans Gurber played by the great Alan Rickman.

Cindy!!!!

She's finished!
After living with her for two years I'm not quite sure what to do with myself now. But I'm so happy with her, she'll be heading off to the framers sometime this week and then will be given to Mom for her birthday, the timing of this was rather perfect as Mom's birthday is at the end of the month,
So here is the last pictures of Cindy (until she's framed)
