Gishwhes

Tomorrow is the start of the Gishwhes scavanger hunt Click here to understand so I am unlikely to get much stitching done, and then the Olympics start. Therefore it seems like the time for a really quick update,
Here's Mulan
And here's a Mill Hill Angel that I almost forgot I had to get done by September for a birthday, so Hedwig has been put on hold and this will become my Olympic project.

As for what I watched
Critical Role

Dare Devil S02 E04-E13 End of Season 2, Do I really have to wait for season 3 now.

Enemy At The Gates - Another WWII movie, the only other one I have I think, As stated before I don’t have many war movies, but this is about a personal battle between a Russian sniper and a German sniper and they are played by Jude Law and Ed Harris, and that makes the whole thing worth watching.

Evita - Film version of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Incredible music even if it does get repetitive towards the end, also Antonio Banderas is magnificent in this.

July Blahs.

Haven’t done a blog since the last  WIPocolypse (oops) July’s  question is
If you are participating in the Olympic Challenge, tell us about your plans – which type of challenge you’ve selected, the pieces you’ll be stitching on, etc.  If you are not participating in the challenge, tell us how this year’s stitching is going for you so far, and if you’re meeting your stitching goals so far for the year.

I am going to participate in the challenge because I am obsessive about the Olympics, and will be watching every spare second I have. And I will have Hedwig beside me the whole time, so I will be doing part 2 of the challange

1. a rotation challenge (for those who like to work on a bunch of different pieces)
2. a distance challenge (for those one at a time stitchers, or anyone else who wants to do some serious focusing on a particular piece)
3. a color challenge (stitch only in the colors of the olympic rings on your WIP pieces, OR… your nation’s flag).

Also that will make up for pretty much ignoring Hedwig all July

To answer the second question, because why not, my stitching goals are actually going fairly well, I reassessed doing Mulan and the Fractal at the same time, decided I was insane to even think it and stuck with Mulan and the secondary project, I finished my mystery stitch that no one is allowed to see, and got a good start on Hedwig before the tour started. And Mulan is going a lot faster than expected, I will finish her in less than a year. I'm sure I will.

I have no update on Hedwig, between the 2 and 3am work starts causing me to miss Jeopardy and the Tour de France putting a hold on the movie project I have been strictly stitching Mulan and am slowly realizing how big she really is.

As of today I have 5 days off in a row, I’ve been feeling kind of down about it as I grabbed the days to go to the Celebration of Light in Vancouver and those plans have since fallen through and now I find myself at loose ends for the weekend, This was to be a birthday present to myself and I feel like the change of plans is causing a minor mid life crisis. Which is annoying me to no end, I usually love having a weekend to do nothing in. But I will be 45, maybe I’m due that crisis, lets hope it only lasts the weekend..  Bah I’m just annoyed at being annoyed and cranky about this.

As for what I watched.
Critical Role

The Tour De France - no stitching during this as I don’t want to miss the magnificent scenery.

Jessica Jones S01 E04-13 Really good series, can’t wait to see where the character goes from here, and the Daredevil tie ins were well done

Daredevil S02 E01-03 And in comes the Punisher with brilliant casting.

The Emperor’s New Groove - This has got to be one of Disney’s silliest animated movies, but such fun.,

Independence Day: Resurgence  - I was worried a bit about this one, ID4 is one of my all time favourite movies, so I was a little scared they would screw this up, but they didn’t, it is a very worthy sequel.
