Round up time, the year is almost over, and a new one will have started by next Friday's blog. so a round up is in order.
But first, this week has not been a good one for stitching, Christmas is wonderful but between work and shopping time is not my friend.  I did manage to demand an afternoon for IHSW (threats using swords may have happened) for myself to stitch and have a lovely conversation with the ladies of Carla's hangout. So there has been no progress on Cinderella or the bookmarks, did get the super secret project almost complete, but it's still secret so no pics yet.
Good thing I'm doing a round up. but first (again) for my veiwing pleasure, what I watched this week while stitching,
Jeopardy of course.

The West Wing Season 1 Ep 12- 18 watched more than I thought.

13 Going on 30. - I love romantic comedies, this isn’t the best, but it’s fun and has great music.

And of course had to watch The Christmas Carol - The Alastair Sim version, always the best.

And now the round up, what I stitched in 2013, I started the year with a vow made with Carla to work on smaller pieces, I tend toward large and intricate, I still did one of those, but I did stick to the promise and made a lot of smaller ones.

Friday 20 December 2013

I have SABLE, a term I just learned that means Stash Accumulated Beyond Life Expectancy, this describes my pattern hoarding perfectly.
It's been a semi productive week, of course work and Christmas shopping get in the way of most things, but shopping seems to lead to an accumulation of chocolate which just is the happiest thing ever.  But I've watched lots and stitched some. Got back to working on Cinderella since I gave up on getting the bookmarks done on time.

It looks more impressive close up

Well, sort of

I didn't give up on the bookmarks though, they just went back to been my Jeopardy piece

I also officially joined IHSW for the first time after playing with it vicariously through Carla the last few months, and I even have the weekend off, shopping is again planned but I can hermit for some the time anyway

Now as for what I watched while stitching this week

The Muppet Christmas Carol, it’s my favorite version.

The West Wing Season 1 Episode 8 to 11 Which includes the amazing “In Excelcis Deo” Christmas episode

The Santa Clause 3, definitely the weakest of the 3 but still a fun little movie.

28 Days, bought this one for the sight unseen for the cast, which was a good decision

The Polar Express.  Love this one for the music and Tom Hanks, cause he’s awesome.
White Christmas. My favorite Christmas movie, can’t have Christmas without it.

8 Women, No actually stitching done when watching this as it’s a subtitled murder mystery musical period piece French movie.

Friday 13 December 2013

Stitching wise this week has not really worked out, I've gone shopping out of town twice and worked every day that I wasn't shopping.  On the plus note, it's always fun to Christmas shop when you already have all the gifts, lots of stuff for me, especially chocolate. So I didn't work on the Stroke of Midnight at all, in an attempt to finish the bookmarks in time.  But once I realized that I needed a week per bookmark and have 6 left to go, that my brother is getting these for his birthday, not Christmas. So as of tomorrow I'm working on both again.
I've finished Houses Baratheon, Martell, and Arryn
And started House Tully

Stitched while watching
The Santa Clause 2 - My favorite of them, I especially love Lucy which is rare for me, I tend not to like young children in movies.

And The West Wing  Season 1, episodes 2 to 7

And of course the nightly Jeopardy

Friday 6 December 2013

So due to a co-worker's minor heart attack (he's recovering nicely) I've not only ended up with more hours, but am starting earlier a couple days a week. And it seems when I start at 5am, a nap becomes more of a priority than stitching. But I still got some done, just a little on the Stroke of Midnight.
before I had to give in and work only on the bookmarks if I want to even attempt to have them done by Christmas.  If I don't, I did get a back up gift and they will be a birthday present, 2 1/2 done, 6 to go.

Shows watched while stitching this week include
101 Dalmatians  - The animated one, not one of Disney’s best, but still cute and fun.  Also I still believe dogs are gossiping and spreading news when I hear a bunch of them barking at twilight  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055254/?ref_=nv_sr_3
